Moments after promising a high court that he would not dissolve the parliament, Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi declared on Friday that the Punjab Assembly will be dissolved in accordance with PTI Chairman Imran Khan's orders.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) reinstated Elahi as chief minister earlier today after receiving an assurance from him that he wouldn't dissolve the provincial parliament.
The chief minister declared on his official Twitter account that "Imran Khan's decision will be implemented; the decision to dissolve the assemblies is definitive."
The "imported administration," according to CM Elahi, is attempting to avoid elections, but the Punjabi government will make sure that it is "presented before the people's court."
Fawad Chaudhry, senior vice president of PTI, insisted that provincial assemblies will be dissolved "in any event" prior to Elahi.
"The task Parvez Elahi has provided is technical. The PTI, however, disagrees with the commitment made to the court. In any case, assemblies will be abolished "In Lahore, Fawad spoke to press.
The provincial cabinet, Parvez Elahi, was reinstated by the court, and it also decided against requiring the chief minister to ratify the decisions of Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman.
Fawad asserted that today's ruling by the court invalidated the governor's notification to dismiss Elahi, demonstrating the validity of the PTI's position. The governor will be called before the Punjab Assembly to answer questions regarding the notification.
Fawad, who served as the previous administration's minister of information, also stated that Elahi was prepared to accept the vote of confidence and that he might ask the speaker to call a meeting to discuss it within a week. The LHC requested an assurance from Elahi that he would refrain from dissolving the assembly because if he did, it may exacerbate the province's already-existing political unrest.
The court requested Elahi's attorney, Barrister Ali Zafar, to speak with his client about the undertaking during two 10-minute and one-hour pauses.est the dismissal of Rehman.
The PML-Q leader gave the court a guarantee that the party would not split, and the court reinstalled him as chief minister. Additionally, the LHC served notices on each party involved in the case and called them on January 11.
Additionally, the court did not mandate that the chief minister take a vote of confidence in the Punjab governor's directives.
