Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated on Saturday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will do a "U-turn on the topic within a week" in response to PTI Chairman Imran Khan's decision regarding the dissolution of assembly in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The interior minister downplayed the PTI chief's announcement during Geo News' show "Naya Pakistan," saying that "[people] would witness how a U-turn will come within a week."
Sanaullah responded to a query by saying that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) currently has nothing to offer Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, the chief minister of Punjab. He further charged CM Elahi with corruption.
The PML-N parliamentary party decided to use the "constitutional option," the minister added when discussing its strategy to fight the PTI's approach.
There is no need to wait until December 23 in order to dissolve the assemblies, according to Sanaullah, who advised Imran to do it immediately.
Leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Qamar Zaman Kaira, stated that no unconstitutional actions would be taken.
The special assistant to the prime minister questioned the assembly dissolution deadline of one week, saying it appeared they wanted to "save face."
When he loses the provincial assembly, Imran will realise his error, Kaira continued.

He added that the CM of Punjab is an experienced player and hoped that no matter the outcome, he would try to persuade Imran. "Elahi has no choice than to forge an alliance with PTI," he remarked.
Only whining to cover up his corruption,
"If the former chief of army staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa gave NROs, then why did you [Imran Khan] offer him an extension," remarked information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb during a news conference.
She added that Khan was complaining because he was trying to get his own NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance), adding that if Gen (retd) Bajwa wasn't letting him work, he could have dissolved the assemblies at the time.
Aurangzeb referred to the PTI leader as a "mental patient" and claimed that money from these two legislatures supports Khan's cooking.
Imran is "whining simply to mask his corruption," the information minister claimed, adding that he knew he would be held responsible if he were to lose his position of authority.
PTI reacts
PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry responded by elaborating on the reasons why the party leader had chosen to delay the dissolution of assembly by nearly a week.
The former communications minister tweeted, "A six-day hiatus has been taken as during this time, we have to handle the National Assemblies' resignations.
