The senior vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stated that her party is not afraid of elections and that it will win the majority of seats in Punjab.

After a brief flight delay, Maryam—who was named the party's top organiser earlier this month—arrived from Abu Dhabi at the Allama Iqbal International Airport at around 3:30 p.m.

After being exonerated in the Avenfield reference case, Nawaz Sharif's daughter has been visiting her father in London since October.

The party workers in the provincial capital have set up camps near the airport to welcome Maryam under tight security to prevent any undesirable events, and senior leaders are also present.

Along with Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, PML-N leader Nawaz has requested Maryam to organise demonstrations and gatherings before to the next elections in Punjab. The party setup needs to be "reorganised," according to the newly appointed lead organiser.

The senior party leader, who was speaking to PML-N members in Lahore, reaffirmed that Nawaz would soon be among them, a subject that has been the subject of much speculation.

"These [establishment] individuals repeatedly forced Nawaz out of power. Three times you put him in positions of authority, but these individuals overthrew his administrations, she claimed.

The PML-N leader described the ousting of Sharif in the Panama leaks case on July 28, 2017, as a "national catastrophe" and said that Pakistan has not recovered since then.

Maryam swore that she would not stop working until her party was able to alter the course of the country and lead it out of its protracted political and economic catastrophe.

The PML-N senior vice president, who would now oversee the party's initiatives leading up to the provincial elections, declared that "all the characters who devised a conspiracy against Nawaz had to face the price for their acts."

Maryam expressed her gratitude to Nawaz, PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif, party members, and others for their support and for giving her these new duties.
