Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, a senior member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and a former prime minister, stated on Sunday that the judiciary should review the judgments that have affected the nation.
Abbasi said that a non-partisan meeting was conducted in Quetta where the problems facing the nation were discussed while speaking at a press conference in Quetta alongside the former finance minister Miftah Ismail.
Regarding the nation's current political and economic circumstances, the former premier stated that "tough decisions need to be made to stabilize" the nation.
Khaqan added that the discourse held in Quetta "is the solution" to the country's problems and that politics couldn't aid Pakistan in resolving its problems.
He claimed that the conversation covered Balochistan-specific concerns as well as Pakistan's political and economic circumstances. He continued by saying that while the fundamental problems couldn't be resolved in eight months, something should be done to get rid of them.
Lashkari Raisani, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), supplied the platform, according to Khaqan.
"If we do not respect the Constitution, we cannot resolve the problems. We require a new social compact and must adhere to the Constitution "Added he.
Speaking of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, Khaqan demanded that the former prime minister's injustice be made right.
He believed that the issues in Balochistan were brought on by people who were not representative of the region. "The MNAs, MPAs, and senators of Balochistan should be scrutinised today to determine whether they truly represent their constituents. The overall state of the nation is as follows."
The senior vice-president of the PML-N stated that even though core issues cannot be fixed in eight months, the current administration should at the very least begin working toward a solution.
He continued that the provinces would need to receive their resources. "Gas and electricity should be provided to Balochistan."The senior politician emphasised using the Constitution as a long-term fix to problems. "A new social contract will come from the political system if one is required. We must determine whether the constitution has failed or whether we have failed it."
In order to move the political system in the direction of resolving societal problems, Khaqan continued.
Miftah Ismail, a former finance minister who was there, stated that the nation's "debt is escalating in the last 20 years and has reached up to Rs51 trillion."
"The government will concentrate on making debt payments rather than investing in health and education. $21 billion must be returned by the nation. There is no additional payment option available for these instalments. Both the unemployment rate and inflation have risen "stated the former finance czar.
He maintained that everyone should have access to rights. "People were not intended to live in poverty in Pakistan. 80 percent of children in the nation are undernourished "Added he.
The previous federal minister placed a strong emphasis on expanding exports and enhancing agriculture. "The economy was harmed by the government's four-month decision-making pause."
The PML-N leader praised the government's discussions with the international lender, the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
PPP leader Raisani urged discussion to resolve differences and demanded that issues in Gwadar be discussed.
"The needs of the people of Gwadar must be met. Before beginning a discourse, a trusting environment should be created, Raisani said, noting that "governments are paralysed. The state needs to start talking."
