The reshaping of Pakistan and American relations, according to Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, is centred on expanding economic opportunities.

He claimed in an interview with MSNBC that the relations between Islamabad and Washington are improving thanks to frequent high-level interaction and bilateral talks.

According to the foreign minister, it is in the interests of both countries' citizens for the two countries to have a strong, long-term alliance.

90% of the communication between the two nations, according to FM Bilawal, used to centre on terrorism. But at the moment, "90% of the conversation focuses on economic cooperation and other issues, including terrorism."

"This is encouraging for relations between Pakistan and the US. What happened in the past cannot be changed. The foreign minister said, "We can learn from the past and interact with each other while having reasonable expectations.

He stated that Pakistan has begun to develop a National Adaptation Plan for constructing resilience to climate change in response to recent floods and climate change.

According to the foreign minister, Pakistan needs to invest in energy transition, which calls for international cooperation, in order to become a climate-resilient nation.

He emphasised the necessity for adaptation, saying that it will help us be better prepared to deal with future disasters like the recent floods that have destroyed 10% of Pakistan's GDP in damages.

US offers assistance

According to a statement from the department, US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with FM Bilawal later in the day to offer his continuous support for Pakistan's people as they recover from the recent disastrous floods.

According to the statement, Secretary Blinken and FM Bilawal Zardari spoke about the necessity of close collaboration and expressed a shared desire for a fruitful International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan in January.

The spokeswoman stated that the secretary also expressed condolences for the victims of recent terrorist acts and reaffirmed the United States' unwavering support for Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.

Ned Price, a spokesperson for the State Department, stated earlier that the US would assist the nation in addressing the risks posed by the extremist groups.

"To help our Pakistani friends take on this task, we have teamed up with them. When asked to comment on the situation at a counterterrorism centre in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he stated, "We are ready to assist, whether with this emerging scenario or more generally."
